Digital Celerity has taken the hard decision to close its business effective 30 November 2016. We want to thank all our clients who have partnered with us over the years, our business partners with whom we've worked to support our various lines of business and our employees without who’s tireless dedication none of our success would have been possible.
Digital Celerity (DC) was founded in 2003 by Adam Pederson as a vehicle for personal consulting. In 2007, following his departure from a position running the IT Service Management practice and Remedy Reseller lines of business for another professional services company, Digital Celerity expanded to a full service expert services company in the field of IT Service Management with a focus on the BMC Remedy ITSM/ITSP platforms. Digital Celerity enjoyed profitable revenue growth over the subsequent years as additional IT Service Management projects enbled the team to expand.
In 2009 we made the decision to invest in sales and marketing to significantly expand our client base to create competitive positioning in the midmarket, focusing on clients with revenue from 50M to 1B. To accomplish this initiative Bob Schwartz joined Digital Celerity as a managing principal, Digital Celerity became a Premier Partner of CA Technologies and began a phased transition to implement exclusively software provided by CA. Digital Celerity invested in providing thought leadership and expert services in four interrelated pillars:
Expert services included: PMBOK based PPM/Governance maturity assessments and road mapping, consulting and advising, training and mentoring, system installation and integration, implementation and organizational adoption, upgrades, and support. By 2013 Digital Celerity had grown to over 50 employees, and sub-contractors servicing over a hundred clients internationally.
Digital Celerity clients enjoyed success with a wide variety of projects and initiatives including:
As often is the case with small businesses that expand quickly Digital Celerity suffered growing pains. As is common in the consulting industry there are ebbs and flows, the enlarged employee base was not sustainable as new versions of the CA software we implemented were not released for ITSM and new client demand for services diminished. Challenges with sales and go to market strategy alignment also delivered setbacks to our plans and necessitated staff reductions. In 2015 Digital Celerity sold its PPM business to Rego Consulting and returned to its origins of an IT Service Management Practice.
Although moving away from the PPM market improved our market position within the ITSM space Digital Celerity has not been able to eliminate the debt accumulated prior to this divestiture. This financial overhang, combined with the lack of new releases and shrinking market share of the CA ITSM product line that has negatively impacted our productivity and marketing efforts has lead us to make this decision to close the business permanently as of November 2016.
The team at Digital Celerity has been privileged to work with a phenomenal group of customers and business partners. Over the course of the years we've worked together we hope that we exceeded your expectations wherever possible. It has been a privilege to work with each and every one of you.
The team members at Digital Celerity, both full-time w-2 employees and 1099 contractors were some of the most knowledgeable and hardest working ITSM and PPM practitioners in the marketplace. Their work is what made Digital Celerity able to deliver superior results on our projects throughout the years.
